“In the exhibition, dying is approached as a physical transformation in which bowel movements play a central role. As a result, the exhibition is also an examination of excrement as a paradoxical cultural object that sits awkwardly between taboo, liminal experience and embarrassment. RM’s work pulls death into a material, bodily space, bringing sadness and humor together in an unexpected embrace to create a new language for grief and dying that allows them to be seen as integral parts of life.”
